Our client is an international FMCG company. This role can be office based or fully remote.

JOB SUMMARY

A critical member of the worldwide tax team and EMEA leadership team, the Head of EMEA Tax will lead the reporting and compliance for EMEA income taxes. The position will be responsible for ensuring the EMEA tax accounts are complete and accurate in accordance with US GAAP. The position will coordinate with the Company’s internal or external finance functions and tax advisors to ensure that all corporate tax returns are completed accurately and timely, and to manage defence of the Company’s tax returns against challenge from tax authorities. The position will be responsible for ensuring the Company’s EMEA transfer pricing is appropriate, will lead global and local strategies to minimize local taxes, and will be the EMEA lead tax resource for global cross-functional and tax initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all aspects of the EMEA tax provision function
- Provide leadership and ownership of EMEA tax compliance functions with tax advisors and local and outsourced finance teams.
- Manage the defence of the Company’s non-US tax returns.
- Establish and maintain EMEA [and worldwide] transfer pricing policies for the Company; ensure compliance with EMEA documentation requirements.
- Act as EMEA tax resource for the EMEA businesses and corporate tax team.
- Assist in identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities to drive worldwide tax savings and effective worldwide cash recirculation and repatriation strategies.
- Act as EMEA project manager on tax initiatives, leading cross-functional implementation of projects including regional tax, treasury, accounting, legal and HR functions
- Assist on tax due diligence for targets and execution of acquisition structuring and post-acquisition integration plans
- Lead EMEA tax integration of any acquired businesses into the parent legal entity footprint, including coordination of local tax and transfer pricing matters.
- Provide tax technical and process guidance and training to tax personnel, local finance and business teams

SKILLS
- 5-10 years relevant experience in European tax matters, including experience with international cross-border tax issues
- Experience with US GAAP income tax reporting strongly preferred
