An exciting opportunity to join the Procurement team has arisen. The team are undertaking a multi-year transformation focused on creating a platform to drive significant incremental value. They will achieve this through the creation of an operating model with the capability to maximise the potential of the supplier ecosystem via connection & delivery of the right external expertise. To meet the future demands of Santander and in turn, to drive best value whilst complying with regulation and Santander risk appetite.

This role will support the Procurement transformation through category excellence and the translation of the Procurement strategy into market leading deliverables to drive value beyond price initiatives.

**The difference you’ll make.**
- Developing and manage a high performing team by consistently adhering to people management processes.
- Building and developing relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Assessing spend data, seeking to drive total cost of ownership benefits and understanding all costs of the bank which impact Category performance and its link to bank income.
- Communicating the key central and business specific messages, track actions and the success of activities.
- Understanding the external market and emerging best practice, contextualise this within the banks environment.
- Assisting the business in translating business need into market ready specifications which allow market competition.
- Ensuring transparent tracking and monitoring of all challenges applied or identified within the business.

**What you’ll bring.**
- Extensive experience within Category Management in diverse category setup - preferably in the financial or services sector
- Significant experience in Supplier negotiations and Supplier relationship management on a senior level

**It would also be nice for you to have.**
- Strong people management skills, gained through leading and developing teams; dealing with a complex workload.
- Excellent influencing, senior stakeholder management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to undertake complex analytical/modelling techniques; deal with complex issues and able to undertake special be-spoke analysis when requested

This role is available at any of our headquarters. Due to the nature of the role, it is to be noted that you will be expected to travel for meetings with suppliers/ stakeholders on a regular basis so please ensure this is something you are comfortable with.

As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For part-time / contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your working hours / contract duration.
- We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer
- 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year
