**Salary - £55,000 - £65,000 (4 days week - Monday to Thursday)**

**Location: Ulverston**

**SUMMARY**
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Head of Projects will lead a team of Project Managers. The Head of Projects will implement industry leading Project and Programme Management techniques to deliver a range of projects and their associated activities on time and to budget. As part of the senior team the Head of Projects will also ensure company strategy objectives are achieved.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The responsibilities of the Head of Projects will be as follows:

- Manage and develop the project management team, including project management best practice, commercial acumen and cost control
- Lead the weekly Product Introduction (PI) tracker meetings and recommend areas of improvement to the Technical Director and the Executive Team
- Develop the programme management processes, forms, and templates to create a world-class framework for executing and delivering programmes of all sizes within cost and time constraints
- Recommend and implement/configure the project management software To make the roles of project/programme managers most effective for Oxley producing top quality reporting of project status and resource availability / capacity management
- Support Internal and external process audits as required
- Support bid preparation and project cost and budget estimation
- Work together with the Head of Engineering/Engineering Manager to ensure all projects are correctly resourced, highlighting future problems and trends
- Attend and contribute to meetings ensuring key company objectives are met and flowed down to the teams

The Head of Projects will also directly lead key projects and carry out the activities required of the project team members including:

- Ensure project scope, goals and deliverables that achieve stakeholder alignment and support business objectives are accurately defined
- Produce and maintain detailed project plans & risk assessments to guide both project execution and project control in order to capture planning assumptions, decisions, scope and cost and facilitate communication amongst stakeholders
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identifying potential crisis, devising contingency plans and maintaining stakeholder alignment to achieve project
- Manage project and PI milestones to guarantee each stage of the project is progressing on time, on budget and to the right standard of quality in order that customer expectation is met or
- Undertake post project analysis and lessons learned reviews, sharing findings with the team, stakeholders and implementing assigned actions to promote total project success and continuous improvement
- Establish productive, dynamic, working relationships with all stakeholders, maintaining regular associations through meetings and communication
- Effectively manage the Customer to desired outcome and implement ‘best practice’ service within the ODC product delivery, to successfully aligning customer expectation with business goals and sustain business relationships

**SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- Demonstrable experience in managing Project Teams
- Prince 2 Practitioner, APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent
- Familiarity with FAA and EASA regulations (desirable but not essential)
- Earned Value Management experience
- Good knowledge of MS Office and MS Project
