**Overview**
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our Client to recruit a Contracts Manager to join their Head Office team based in Gravesend. However, the role is not office focused and the incumbent can expect to spend the majority of their time visitingand working from various Client sites/projects.
Our Client specialises in scaffolding services and they are looking to regrow considerably in the immediate future. They undertake projects ranging from £100K to £20M across London and the South East, with occasional projects in other regions such as Birmingham,Cambridge, Oxford and Southampton etc.
**Key Responsibilities**
Control by managing all aspects of production through the companies managerial, supervisory, and ancillary staff both operationally and commercially, ensuring health and safety requirements are met.
The Contracts Manger reports immediately to the Contracts Director, also communicating with Board Directors whilst liaising with all other departmental staff.
Where applicable the Contracts Manager may assist or be required to temporarily fulfil roles upstream or downstream of their operational command.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Manage Organisational Control of contracts.
- Manage contract financial aspects.
- Manage budgets and costs effectively within contracts.
- Act as a liaison to senior management and the Directors.
- Promote and maintain an environment of continuous improvement.
- Support the company in production planning and pre-commencement activities to ensure contracts are adequately resourced, within their budgets.
- Identify any skills gaps and training needs within the contracts team, notifying Human Resources and the Contracts Director, undertaking a recruitment programme to support this where necessary.
- Ensure training of all managers, supervisors and operatives (including sub-contractors) within the contracts department is kept up to date, ensuring all are adequately trained and provided with the correct materials and equipment to adequately undertaketheir duties within the contracts they are serving.
- Provide a leadership support function to the contract teams and motivate staff to achieve production and financial targets.
- Participate in regular business operation financial reviews with senior management and Directors, ensuring that contract KPI’s are in place and are met.
- Assist Directors with information and solutions that enable Implementation of new policies and procedures to streamline the business, making the output more efficient and protecting the interests of the company.
- Maintain legal compliance on behalf of the company and our clients.
- Audit projects generally and scaffolding structures with regard compliance to company requirements, policy, procedures and industry guidance.
- Ensure industry best practice is implemented and maintained, with immediate focus on safety, working at height and lifting / plant operations.
- Identify non-conformity to Contract Supervision, Site Managers and Supervisors whilst ensuring that Directors are kept informed of immediate problems that may require additional business support.
- Represent the company in a professional capacity at all times, working closely with clients, employees and subcontractors.
- Ensure programme (contract and target) are formulated then progressed to time, quality, specification and budget in accordance with the Company/Department KPIs.
- Regular review of labour and material requirements for contracts at regular intervals, ensuring correct labour and material levels, types and resourcing are appropriate for company, client, and economic needs.
- Always ensure that sites are managed safely by inspection/check.

**Training/Qualification Requirements**
- CISRS Advanced Card/CISRS Supervisor.
- CISRS Advanced Inspection.
- SMSTS.
- TWS (Temporary Works Supervisor).
- First Aid (1 day) [desirable].
- HAKI Inspection [desirable].
