**Job Summary**:
Responsible for the supervision of young people at the Children ’s Home providing advice, care and stability for the young people ensuring they are treated equally and provided with equal opportunities daily.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- To ensure the protection and safeguarding of the young people in our care.
- To support young people to complete day to day activities and attend education
- To address the needs of the young people according to their individual care plans.
- Demonstrate to the young people the value of education, care, and development to achieve better outcomes.
- Build and create mutual trust and respect with young people in order that they respond and react appropriately to information and advice.
- Define structures and boundaries of behaviour to young people, acting as a positive role model, so they understand daily routines expected.
- Produce, maintain, and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available.
- Monitor and analyse the young people’s behaviour to encourage them to participate in a positive structured routine.
- Create and produce activities to occupy and develop young people in order that they gain life skills and education on an informed basis.
- Provide basic advice and skills to young people on managing their finances and other everyday life skills.
- To support the healthcare needs of the young people and encourage and attend appointments as required to include the administration of medication and where required first aid.
- To ensure that young people are transported safely in company vehicles and be aware of young people’s risk assessments and company’s policies and procedures.
- To ensure and promote the cleanliness of the home’s environment including daily household tasks.
- To promote the homes effective Health and Safety management by way of completing daily Health and Safety checks / tasks as directed.
- Where necessary, identify and challenge negative behaviours in an appropriate and constructive manner.
- Must represent, engage, and collaborate positively with parents, careers, other agencies, and professionals to ensure that the best interests of the young people are supported and always respected.
- Deliver one to one support discussions with young people.
- To support and encourage young people in developing self-care skills, including domestic and social tasks in preparation for independent living.
- Complete regular key work sessions with young people in line with their care plans.
- Attend and engage in staff meetings where required.
- Complete sleep-in duties where required as part of rota.
- Able to form and maintain good working relationships and work effectively a part of theme.
- To complete additional tasks and duties requested by your line manager that are reasonable within your role of a night care practitioner.
- Must be committed to undertake regular job-related training.
- Must be able to carry out all duties in line with The Hills Children Homes LTD policies and procedures.

**Requirements**:

- Ability to follow care plans accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy towards children
- Willingness to undergo background checks as required
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the needs of the children
- Driving License
- Ability and commitment to complete QCF Level 3/4 Children and Young People qualification within regulatory timeframe.

Pay: £11.60-£12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
