Oxford, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Statistician to join the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) as part of the Core Trials Team. We are seeking a medical statistician with experience of analysing clinical trials to further develop their statistical and clinical trials expertise within an internationally recognised, multi-disciplinary research unit where multi-centre trials are conducted to the highest standard. You will be required to ensure robust statistical input into all aspects of clinical trials adopted by the NPEU CTU from design to analysis and dissemination.

The NPEU is an internationally recognised, multi-disciplinary research unit based within the Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH). The Unit undertakes research relating to pregnancy, childbirth and newborn babies. Randomised controlled trials undertaken by the NPEU Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) make up a large component of the NPEU’s work. The ongoing programme of trials at the NPEU CTU evaluates a broad range of interventions for women and babies in the perinatal health services.

To be considered, you will have a postgraduate qualification in statistics, epidemiology or clinical trials, a substantial part of which relates to medical statistics or clinical trials methodology. You will have experience in the design, conduct, analysis, interpretation and reporting of randomised controlled trials with expertise in statistical analytical techniques. Additionally you will be proficient with at least one statistical package such as STATA, R or SAS and have the ability to investigate complex problems and develop solutions. The post is ideal for an enthusiastic medical statistician with highly effective communication skills (written & verbal) & meticulous attention to detail.

Committed to equality and valuing diversity.
