Reprographics Operative

Image Data Group are a family run business with sites in Willerby (Hull), Howden & Brighton, operating at the forefront of marketing communications & providing print solutions/products since 1989. We deliver innovative visual communications for the UK’s leading retailers & corporations from banners, tension-fabric light boxes to presentation brochure packs & office stationary.

This Reprographics role is based in either our Willerby (HU10 6EB) or Howden (DN14 7SE) sites & is a key role for our business as you will be supporting the the business in acheiving the high print standards expected by our clients.

The Reprographics role is working Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm or 9am - 5.30pm (some flexibility is required during busy periods), we can offer competitive salary depending on your experience, enhanced holiday allowance, company pension, employee support program, cycle to work scheme & free on site parking.

Due to the current team skill set - we are looking for someone with:

- Reprographics experience
- Digital File pre-flighting
- Adobe, acrobat, illustrator, photoshop experience
- Large and small format digital workflow experience
- Litho plate making
- Reprograpic workflow knowledge ( Fuji XMF or similar)
- Enfocus pitstop

**_You would have to have some kind of knowledge of at least one of the above_**

**Main Function**:
To process all elements of customer artwork and transform them into print ready documents in line with customer specifications, ensuring that the designs are printable on the equipment available.

To carry out all aspects of Reprographics work, to ensure that production output continually meets specified quality standards and agreed levels, within the required timescales.

**Key Performance Tasks**:

- Principle duties involve operation of all associated equipment and programs for the preparation of proofs and print ready files.
- To carry out and ensure that the equipment is calibrated as required to ensure work is produced to meet specifications.
- To be fully conversant with the Job ticket requirements prior to commencing a job thus ensuring customer requirements are understood and any issues highlighted to relevant parties.
- To comply with company procedures and quality standards in order to ensure the production of a quality product at all times.
- Ensure that the jobs are processed in the correct order to minimise downtime on the printing presses.
- To complete all paperwork correctly to ensure an up to date, accurate record is available at all times.
- Ensure that the machines and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy at all times and carry out daily cleaning routines to ensure good housekeeping and safe systems of working.
- Report any mistakes or machine problems as soon as they become apparent to ensure prompt correction.
- To continually learn and train others in all aspects of Reprographics equipment, operation and maintenance.

- To work in any department and carry out required duties as directed by Senior Managers to contribute to overall success of the company.

**Performance Indicators / Targets**:

- Consistent attainment of good quality proofs and print ready files.
- All proofs and print ready files meet specified requirements and quality standards.
- Accurate and legible recording of production related documents.
- Able to quickly identify operating problems and act in such a way as to minimise down time
- To be receptive to cross train on all types of equipment as directed by the Operations Director

**Skills**:

- Previous experience and an In-depth knowledge of production processes and Reprographics operating methods.
- Previous experience within similar industry is essential
- Working knowledge of both litho and digital print
- Design knowledge
- CAD experience
- Proficient IT skills
- Colour management experience would be highly beneficial
- Flexible and adaptable approach to rapidly changing work priorities and ability to work under pressure.
- A helpful and co-operative attitude.
