**Job role and responsibilities**
- Control of import and export documentation for Mitchell Powersystems
- Completion of Import and export documentation as required by the HMRC customs and excise in line with the business requirements and internal instructions
- Build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and export customers
- Engage with working colleagues, building and maintaining a good working relationship and supporting them through their import and export requirements by offering guidance and also be a hands-on support role
- Creation and upkeep of dedicated electronic filing system for all paperwork related to imports and exports
- Own a master data system in terms of country of origins, commodity codes, dual use items and commodity code classifications as required
- Work with suppliers in obtaining relevant data for origin of goods declarations, Certificate of Origins when required by customers
- Maintain an understanding of all regulatory and legislation changes to be able to best advise the business in their decision making
- MSS Reporting and analytics
- Deferment account reconciliation and reporting management
- Invoice processing, query handling and reconciliation for import and export activities
- Build and maintain relationships with the Chamber of Commerce, Department for International Trade, HMRC, SPIRE - and utilising for advice and guidance where required
- Organise and complete all customs audits in relation to Mitchell Diesel Ltd’s import and export activity
- Have a good working understanding of inward processing relief (IPR) and outward processing relief (OPR) to best advise the business
- Have a working awareness of all other licenses required for import and exporting
- Development and ownership of work instructions in relation to import and export, providing guidance and training to the business on these matters whilst building good working relationships with all internal stakeholders
- Training of colleagues to cover in cases of absence / holiday
- General filing
- Any other duties as and when required

**SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:

- Import/Export knowledge and experience to high standard
- Good working knowledge of customs tariffs
- Good working knowledge of the international transport and logistics industry
- Familiar with MSS reporting and documentation requirements
- Familiar with Customs Procedure codes and their specific use
- Proficient with Office 365: Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams
- An effective communicator with customers, suppliers and key internal stakeholders
- A positive, can do attitude who works proactively and is a solutions provider
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Can offer situational leadership and coaching to all levels of the business
- Self-disciplined with excellent time management control

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
