LEAD YOUTH WORKER
**37 Hours per week, 12-month initial contract**

**Salary**:£26,775 per annum (salary review due in Sept 2023)
**Location**: Pallister Park Centre, Middlesbrough

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, committed and enthusiastic Lead Youth Worker to join a highly motivated and successful team here at Youth Focus North East.

This is a challenging but hugely rewarding role and one that will provide an opportunity for a talented youth work professional to develop even further, the impact of our work at a local and regional level. This role requires a proactive, organised and practical approach to ensure programmes are delivered effectively and efficiently.

The post holder will plan, undertake and lead youth work projects, working directly with young people aged 10 to 25 years old, helping them to build life skills, develop healthy relationships and have a voice at the heart of decision making that effects them and their communities.

You will be passionate about engaging with young people and motivated to help make positive changes to their lives. You will be able to hit the ground running and work on your own initiative. Your positivity and enthusiasm will be important. Our team will support and nurture your development and there will be opportunities for additional training in areas that interest you.

You will have experience and an awareness of all or some of the following, safeguarding, confidentiality, risk assessments, social action, training and development. Ideally you will have a driving licence and be willing to travel across the region to engage with young people and partners.

Understanding and ensuring quality youth work practice is a prerequisite of the role.
