Middlesbrough, United Kingdom Middlesbrough Council Full time

South Tees Youth Justice Service is seeking to appoint a Restorative Justice Worker with the required knowledge and experience to support the delivery of the ‘Making Good’ Immediate Justice Programme.

You will have the drive and determination to contribute to the future development of Youth Justice Services, improving performance and ensuring quality in the delivery of work with young people, as well as achieving positive outcomes for communities and victims of crime and anti-social behaviour.

This post includes engagement and support for victims and communities to engage with restorative justice activities and the development of projects and interventions to respond to the wishes of victims and communities as well as challenging young people regarding their behaviours.

We are looking for suitably experienced individuals who can show the creativity and commitment to make a difference to the lives of young people and victims. The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues from partner agencies is a key skill for achieving success in this role. An understanding of using restorative approaches to overcoming barriers to engagement is essential for success in this post.

Middlesbrough Council is committed to investing in its workforce and all staff benefit from induction, supervision and there is an established process for supporting progression in the service. STYJS supports flexible, hybrid working model, including working from home to support a positive work-life balance. This is a challenging but immensely rewarding role and provides a real opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of young people, victims and communities across Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland.

This is a fixed term contract until 31.03.2025.
