Dot Recruit are delighted to support a long-standing client in their search for a new Finance Officer. With a history of over 100 years, this charity is renowned for supporting individuals in need to ensure that everybody gets the life opportunities that they deserve. This role is within a small, close-knit finance team and allows someone to increase their finance skills whilst working in a role that is centred around giving back to the local community.
**How you’ll spend your time**_**:_
- Manage and control the sales ledger function including invoicing, receipts and credit control using the computerised accounts package.
- Be responsible for the preparation and depositing of bankings, and cash collection from the bank.
- Account for residential fees using the weekly residential fees control pack (Microsoft Excel).
- Prepare, administer, reconcile and administer residents bank accounts, including the Residents Monies Account.
- Liaise with internal departments and external organisations in respect of residents benefits and deal with any queries arising.
- Complete and submit Local Authority returns in respect of residential and respite residents.
- Prepare, issue and record payments and receipts for residential residents personal monies and/or petty cash.
- Prepare quarterly prepayments and accruals.
- Assist in a variety of tasks to prepare quarterly management accounts.
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations on an ongoing basis.
- Deal with internal and external mail.
- Assist in producing and checking monthly summaries / journals generated by the Finance Office in order that accurate management accounts are produced.
**This opportunity will be great for you if**
- You have at least 2 years working in a finance team
- You have sales ledger experience and are familiar with processing invoices
- You have knowledge of accruals and prepayments
- You are looking to expand your finance knowledge within a supportive, successful finance team
- You have experience of bank reconciliations
