Hexcel is currently seeking a Procurement Officer for our Duxford, UK location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

- Works with the Supply Planning team to ensure robust detailed buying schedules are in place, and that achieve optimal levels of customer service whilst considering inventory targets.
- Develops close collaborative relationships with Planning to ensure a free flow of information and intelligence between both parties. This in turn ensures seamless interfaces between the Customer Service team, Production Planning and Distribution to deliver customer service excellence to both internal and paying customers.
- Ensures short and long-range (up to 12 months) planning of raw materials are developed and in support of customer service requirements of the business.
- Work with European Sourcing and directly with local suppliers to control the supplier base to ensure consistent and reliable supply of all materials used in production and / or site activities. The focus is upon the right first-time quality, on-time deliveries, and management of associated costs.
- Ensure active participation in the SI&OP process to ensure complete alignment of supply and demand through the supply chain.
- Works in collaboration with the Procurement and Logistics Manager and customers to optimize inventory, leveraging the relevant planning and inventory optimization tools available. Proactively evaluates current and strategic portfolio of products and recommends changes in operational capabilities, requirements, or potential outsourcing initiatives to achieve business goals.
- With Planning and Procurement, develop appropriate replenishment tactics and ‘Days of Replenishment’ for raw materials.
- In collaboration with sourcing and supply chain, develop supply strategies and interfaces with suppliers to ensure consistent and reliable supply of all materials.
- Manage aged inventory and disposal of unrequired material.
- Control the movements of consignment stocks ensuring minimum stock levels are maintained.

Qualifications:

- Must be an effective communicator & relationship builder with people at all levels of the business.
- Must be driven, enthusiastic, autonomous, and self-motivated.
- Able to stay organized and handle multiple, competing priorities in a matrix organization.
- ASCM or CIPS qualifications or willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems: i.e., AX2012.
- Experience with dealing with third party suppliers.
- Relevant University Degree or equivalent experience.
- An understanding of the financial aspects of the business and methods of cost control.
- Experience in leading improvement activities.
