**Location**:The Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Road, Oldham, OL1 2JH

**Shift Pattern**:Monday-Friday 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm (37.5 hours a week)

**Pay**:£12.86 per hour

**About the Trust**

The Northern Care Alliance is an NHS Foundation Trust (NCA FT) created by bringing together two NHS Trusts, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. The NCA FT was formally established on 1 October 2021. The NCA has been working together as a group since 2016.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Exchange non-clinical written and verbal information with patients, staff and carers, some of which may be sensitive, on behalf of the Consultant and their team, using judgement to establish the validity and priority of the contact in a tactful and sensitive manner demonstrating empathy and reassurance
- Communicate inter-departmentally with all levels of staff and external agencies including GPs and other NHS Trusts, Police and Social Services
- Respond to queries from the cancer tracking team and MDT Co-ordinators and ensure all clinical letters for cancer patients are typed within 24 hours to support the Trust achieving the national cancer waiting time targets
- Deal with telephone communications and type letters with a potentially distressing or emotional content

**You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust**:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written
- Microsoft office skills
- Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Previous NHS experience
- Previous personal assistant experience
- NHS System Knowledge
- This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years secretarial experience._
