The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS trust plays a huge part in west Essex and east and north Hertfordshire's way of life. The trust runs a busy hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital and provides services at St. Margaret's Hospital and Herts and Essex Hospital. Together serve a population of around 350,000 people.

**What you’ll be responsible for**:

- Shared responsibility for opening and distribution of all incoming post that comes into the Finance Office.
- Ensure that payments for goods and services are made accurately through the validation of item, price, quantity, and delivery through reference to the Trust’s official purchase order or other appropriate documentation.
- Ensure that official orders are updated as required and that the financial information added is accurate. Interpret orders and invoice details to be able to ensure information is represented in an accurate and understandable manner.
- Ensure queries both straight forward and complex and discrepancies are identified and are investigated in an appropriate manner. Liaise on a daily basis with Trust managers and external suppliers to resolve issues identified and then obtain required authorisation and/or appropriate documentation to allow the query to be resolved. Where a repayment is required liaise with the external supplier to ensure the refund is made or where appropriate with the Trust’s Credit Controller.
- Respond in an appropriate or effective manner to the regular queries, and complaints, that arise as part of the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable process. Issues requiring resolution would include late or lost payments, queries between delivery amounts and invoiced amounts, and any other issues that may have affected the normal payment process.
