**What You Need to Know**

The Stores/Yard assistant will assist with forklift movements within the workshop & yard areas at our Skene facility. This will also include stores duties, waste management & general housekeeping across the workshops, stores & yard.

**Some of the Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)**:

- Carry out day to day safe forklift movement of equipment & materials within the workshop & yard areas
- Assist in planning equipment movements through the use of lift plans to minimise risk.
- Unloading/loading of company & third-party vehicles ensuring all pre-shipment checks & appropriate paperwork is supplied/completed.
- Ensuring that all delivery drivers adhere to company safety guidelines & policies whilst on site.
- Check all outgoing cargo for potential dropped objects, snags or other hazards, that all loads are securely packed.
- Complete cargo checklists prior to completing Cargo Summary Tickets (CST) for outbound equipment & material.
- Carry out daily & pre-use inspections of equipment prior to use as per company policy.
- Carry out visual inspections of all lifting accessories
- Monitor all waste material skip levels on site
- Keep workshop & yard facilities clean & tidy
- Make local deliveries/collections using company van as & when required.
- Assist in monitoring/recording any stock/equipment movements in/out of stores.
- Assist with checking demobilisations for items returned to site to go into store/off hire.
- Assist with the packing of equipment & materials for despatch/off hire/shipping.
- Any other reasonable tasks or responsibilities as instructed by your line manager

**Skills & Experience**

Essential
- A good level of standard education e.g. Standard Grade or equivalent in Maths & English
- Counterbalance forklift - B2
- Experience working within a busy workshop environment.
- Good interpersonal & communication skills (both written & verbal)
- Clean Driving Licence

Preferred
- B3 Counterbalance, R3 Side loader & D1 Reach forklifts.
- Gantry crane
- COSHH Awareness
- Experience in heavy lifts & container movements
- Oil & gas service industry experience.
