Founded in 1991, Guy’s ACU is one of the UK's largest assisted conception clinics offering both NHS and self-funded fertility care. Our state of the art laboratory utilises time-lapse incubator technology and the best equipment to allow us to deliver optimal care.

We operate a seven day service caring for patients who are undergoing funded treatment and attract both national and international self-referrals. Each year we deliver over 1800IVF/ICSI cycles including 450 PGT cases and an additional 1700 FET cycles.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated HCPC registered Senior Embryologist with at least 5 years clinical experience to join one of the UK's largest assisted conception clinics. There is an expectation to direct the lab when required and lead on work streams related to expansion of activity in the lab and building new capacity and ways of working. This is a development opportunity to work with our ACU MDT and partners providing PGT, combined andrology services (mTESE and Klinefelter clinics), fertility preservation, ovarian tissue cryopreservation.

You will also perform and range of administrative, diagnostic and support activities that are critical in delivering a high quality service and helping our patients achieve their dreams of a family.

You will undertake all routine andrology and embryology procedures as well as support the training of laboratory team members. This role requires clinical experience and the ability to train others in micromanipulation techniques including ICSI and TE biopsy as well as a thorough knowledge of legislation and regulatory requirement in the field of fertility treatment in the UK.

As a Senior Clinical Embryologist you will have responsibility for several areas of Embryology Team management and service delivery. You will support the Consultant Embryologist via direct supervision of the Embryology Team and will participate in the laboratory rota to ensure clinical, regulatory and quality assurance tasks are completed (both directly and via delegation). Responsibilities will include practical elements of in house competency and training as well as formal routes, so knowledge of STP delivery and responsibilities is essential to support team growth and progression. This would also include facilitating clinical audits and studies for internal presentation and KPI review as well as submission of abstracts for peer reviewed publications or presentation at conference. There is an expectation to direct the lab when required and lead on work streams related to expansion of activity in the lab and building new capacity and ways of working.
