Building a strong Commercial Function in Government, and with it the right commercial capability, is at the heart of a far-reaching programme of Civil Service reform.

We have already made significant progress through the establishment of the Government Commercial Organisation (GCO), our single employer of senior commercial talent across government. This role will sit within the GCO, but based in our Home Office commercial team delivering departmental objectives.

**Job description**:
We are recruiting up to 8 exciting commercial lead roles in Data, Digital and Technology (DDaT).

Working within the Home Office team is both demanding and exciting as we are driving significant transformational change through leveraging new technologies both home and abroad to secure UK’s interests and promote UK citizens’ safety and prosperity. You will lead a commercial team and our stakeholders to provide best in class commercial outcomes for the Home Office helping shape the Digital markets and negotiate innovative contracts achieving value for money outcomes for the UK.

In this role, you will be a true leader, driving development, innovation and creating a cohesive, positive mind-set to deliver great commercial outcomes with real accountability and collaboration with business and project teams. Your key focus will be planning and executing the Category Strategies for goods and services compliant with regulations and governance in support of DDaT strategy.

All roles offer hybrid working benefits - We typically spend 40% of the time / 2 days per week in the office.

**Person specification**:
We are recruiting up to 8 exciting commercial lead roles in Data, Digital and Technology (DDaT).

Our DDaT commercial directorate is currently divided into 3 teams: comprising of 1. Enterprise Services (ES), 2. Home Office Biometrics & Police and Public Protection (PPPT) and 3. Migration and Borders Technology Portfolio (MBTP) Future management of Borders and Immigration (FBIS). Metis (Enterprise Resource Planning) Borders IT & HM Passport Office Digital. This covers 560 contracts with a value of £2.08bn with cashable savings of £20m already achieved for FY22/23.

Procurement and Contract Management:

- Influence business stakeholders to shape a coherent market proposition and engage the market to refine requirements to procure critical goods and services which support Home Office Digital priorities, playing a fundamental role in the security and economic prosperity of the UK.
