Job Title: Internal Packing Operative
**Reporting to: Warehouse Manager**

Role Objective: (brief summary of key function of role and where it fits into the organisation)

Be an integral part of the Internal Packing team and engage in a positive manner to produce work of a high-quality standard at the required level of output.

Checking, amending and managing works orders (formal and otherwise) from receipt to completion.

Ensuring customer and company standards are adhered to throughout the internal packing area.

Key Responsibilities: (list key tasks, responsibilities, etc.)
- Ensure that the incoming works order is completely matched to the bill of material, work instruction (where applicable) and physical stock before a job is started.
- Ensure the scope of ‘ad-hoc’ works is clearly understood and documented before any such job is started (e.g. barcode and/or carton labelling, placing product into CDUs or breaking packs down).
- Ensure that the Warehouse Manager is kept up to date with regard to the weekly internal packing plans and that space is made for priority jobs to come in at any time.
- All completed works orders must be quality checked before sign off. This will include pen placement, colour coding, damaged outers and date stamps.
- All errors and/or omissions must be reported to the Warehouse Manager immediately.
- Communicate and share details of errors and/or omissions to positively assist colleagues in achieving better performance.
- Put forward ideas and proposals to improve quality and streamline output within the warehouse.
- Identify and communicate all potential barriers and/or pitfalls within the internal packing operation with a view to providing excellent customer service within each activity.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to ensure that products can be quickly identified, moved to pick bays ready for despatch on completion.
- Must be able to work within a team and individually, whilst keeping a high standard of care and attention to produce high quality finished product.
- Promote the importance of the team philosophy both outside the warehouse and within the immediate team.

Other Information:
The role holder would be expected to be part of the Warehouse team and would, with colleagues, provide cover in the absence of the Warehouse Manager. The role holder would be expected to take an active interest in the day to day running of the department, and would be expected to be a strong team player with a desire to help others to achieve a common goal.
