**Job summary**:
We are looking for confident, talented and dynamic videographers with photography skills to join our multi-award-winning Digital Communications Team of 21 people. We have one of Whitehall's largest Digital Communications Teams which continues to expand and includes specialists in social media, design, and video.

We want someone who can shake things up, come up with new ideas and find different ways of creating engaging social media videos to bring DWP’s policy areas to life.

The Department’s work is often national news and we are recruiting Videographers, to be part of our supportive and high-performing Digital Media and Press team. The DWP Communications Directorate provides professional advice to ministers and departmental officials.

The DWP Digital Communications Team and Press Office work closely and collaboratively with the rest of the Communications Directorate to find the best ways to inform the public about the work of the Department and the support and services we provide.

This post will be based at Caxton House, London.

**Job description**:
You will be part of an in-house video team that is responsible for attending official Ministerial visits around the country, capturing case studies and to produce social media content to promote and explain DWP schemes and initiatives.

This is a fast-paced and hands-on position with some overnight filming trips, and you must be able to work and travel well under pressure and edit to tight deadlines, as well as respond quickly to short notice requests.

We are looking for someone who is confident at dealing with senior people and knows when to take charge of a situation to get the job done. You will also have a can-do attitude and a flair for making great creative content.

The team is very supportive, and you will be introduced to our ways of working and equipment. Each team member brings specific specialisms, and we feel strongly that formal and informal learning and development is an important part of our work. There will be learning opportunities within the team as well as training in specific software or more generic courses on civil-service learning or with the Government Communications Service. You may sometimes be asked to help out on wider Government video or photography projects, and you may get the opportunity to take up a short secondment with another department.

**Person specification**:
**Essential Criteria**
- Excellent end-to-end video production skills, to include devising, pitching, planning, storyboarding, filming, lighting, sound recording/mixing, and video editing (Premiere or Final Cut Pro X).
- You must have experience of delivering projects at pace and under pressure.
- You must be a skilled user of video insight - understanding what kind of content works best for which audiences. Experience of using social media video insight and administrating online channels such as YouTube, Vimeo and/or other social channels.
- You must have experience of creating accessible video content, including use of subtitles and voiceover.
- Have experience and confidence in interviewing stakeholders and participants.
- Photography and photo-editing skills using Adobe Creative Cloud.
- You must have a keen eye for detail, be proactive and be able to problem solve.
- You must be able to take creative direction and work autonomously to bring a story to life.
