Looking for a new role in Asset appraisal? Look no further because we have a whopper of a role for you. We are looking for a Head of Asset Appraisal to join our Strategic Asset Management team on a permanent basis.

You’ll be overall responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of our assets and through the voids disposal, options appraisal and land enhancement work streams you will be the strategic driving force leading on stock rationalisation projects, being part of internal project groups, liaising with Consultants and Solicitors.

A key part of this role is enhancing our already well established operating models, keeping an eye on the wider sector as well as being responsible for setting up a brand new workstream in the first 12 months to add to your portfolio.

You’ll lead a team of 16, coaching and encouraging them to meet targets in their identified workstreams; you’ll be collaborating with colleagues across the business to really embed the principles of asset appraisal with colleagues to support their understanding of asset disposals and the benefits this can have to our current and future customers.

Some other key duties include (but aren’t limited to):

- Leading on strategic review programmes to prepare and present reports on stock viability, rationalisation, options appraisal, responsible for a robust governance structure and routinely reporting at senior leadership panels the performance of your teams whilst supporting a wide range of strategic and operational investment decisions, including acquisition, disposal, stock transfer and rationalisation.
- Where assets are underperforming, to lead the Group’s disposal activity through the options appraisal programme, void disposal pool and other approval mechanisms to meet Aster’s corporate objectives including analysis of routes to market to ensure properties and disposal at the most financial advantageous result for the group
- Continually review the effective management of all work streams, based on validated outputs from the asset performance tool in order to make informed recommendations through Asters governance arrangements, including Group Investment & Assets Panel

**About you**

You’ll bring with you demonstrable experience of working in a similar environment with asset disposals and appraisals, this doesn’t need to be in the housing sector, but you’ll need to understand valuation processes and real estate sales.

You’ll bring with you tenacity and drive to push the boundaries of the way things are done, coming up with effective and efficient ways of working, challenging the norm to find solutions and take forward initiatives.

This won’t be a new role to you, you’ll be able to confidently communicate with external stakeholders around selling properties, discuss problems with surveyors and effectively manage consultants.

The role has leadership responsibility so you’ll be coaching and mentoring your team, sharing knowledge and expertise and learning from their experiences to enhance your service delivery.

The role benefits from hybrid working, and there will be travel across our operating regions in the South West and London so you’ll need to be flexible in your approach to work and have access to transport for travelling.
