Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 3 Therapy Support Worker to join our multidisciplinary team providing specialist neurological rehabilitation at Linden Lodge in-patient rehabilitation unit, based at Nottingham City Hospital.

This is a very exciting time to become part of Team NUH’s rehabilitation services. Planning for the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) is in its advanced stages. The NRC will be a new, purpose-built 70-bed facility which will be built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough, delivering a centre of excellence to improve rehabilitation services in England. It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and will share some of the world class rehabilitation facilities. Clinical staff from Linden Lodge, the current neuro-rehabilitation service, will transition to the NRC when it opens in November 2024.

Excellent time management skills, self-motivation and flexibility to meet the changing demands of the service are essential. As well as hands on rehabilitation, the support worker assists the team with administrative tasks. Being computer literate with a willingness to learn the use of a range of hospital ICT systems would also be important in this role.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience of working in a rehabilitation or care setting, who is enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.

Main duties of the job

The plans will include individual sessions with patients as well as some group sessions. You will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of rehabilitation for patients, as well as delegated admin duties.

The successful applicant will receive a comprehensive induction and regular supervision within supportive and caring teams, as well as being supported to learn and continuously develop through in-service training. You will actively participate in service improvement, training, supervision and yearly appraisal to continually develop your skills.
