With multiple sites, this company have been going for over 20 years and specialise in the renewable energy industry. With increased government backing and a boom in the industry, they have grown from strength to strength, and are continuing to see ongoingyear on year growth with extensive plans moving forward. Due to new government funding and a nationally backed project they are looking to recruit an R&D Project Manager into the business.
In this role you will be based from our clients Truro office and work closely with the internal R&D team, Government and Project partners to develop brand new, next generation technologies that will be integral to UKs ability to meet it's net zero targets.The role will initially be for a 3 year project period but with a very real possibility of being extended further.
This is the perfect role for someone looking to join a rapidly growing company working on exciting and cutting edge renewable technology.
Required skills:

- Track record in managing project constraints of scope, time, cost, and quality.
- Fully aware and conversant with project life cycles.
- Capable of driving teams in the estimating of task duration and identify and mitigate risks to the project.
- In depth experience in a new product development environment.
- Proactively manage resources to achieve goals set by the project.
- An Engineering background in electronics, software or mechanics.
Main job responsibilities:

- Act as the main point of contact with BEIS and project partner disseminating requests out to relevant Engineers within the project.
- Attend funding events and represent Kensa and the project at these events. Sometimes this will include presenting to stakeholders. There may be a requirement to travel to some of these events.
- Plan and structure project to the appropriate level of detail at work package, activity and task level.
- Chair productive and focused project team meetings with project partners and at times UK government officials.
- Communicate project status and escalate major issues/risk on a monthly basis to project partner, BEIS and Kensa senior management teams.
- Be responsible for the financial management of the project liaising with Kensa Finance team and project partners to make funding submission inline with funding agreement.
- Track and report project costs and deliverables, explain any variances to plan and implement appropriate countermeasures as required.
- Ensure adequate project risk management activities are conducted, including risk identification, mitigation and escalation as appropriate.
- Control project expenses including timesheets and Engineer allocation to the correct Work packages.
