**Contract: 6 months (Possible Extension)**

**Salary: £25 p/h (Umbrella)**

**Start Date: ASAP**

**Shift Pattern: 36 hours / Full-time**

**DUTIES**
- To assist the Revenue Service, dealing with the demand, collection and recovery of the Council Tax.
- To be conversant with the fundamentals of Council Tax Legislation and ensure bills are raised in accordance with its’ requirements.
- Updating computer records with amendments to accounts, creating new accounts.
- Establish and review exemptions, discounts, disabled persons relief, single person discounts and transitional relief scheme.
- Interview members of the public in connection with revenue matters, conducting correspondence of a routine nature.
- Dealing with telephone and counter enquiries, referring more complex issues to the Senior Revenue Officer.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Previous experience working within local authority environment or a similar organisation.
- Previous experience of working in a Revenues role or equivalent.
- The ability to interpret complex information and explain it clearly to customers.
- Discretion for handling confidential information as well as accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in the use of IT systems and numerically literate.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
