Our client is a specialist manufacturing organisation supporting major suppliers to the OEM automotive industry, and who deal with day-to-day engineering issues in companies such as Ford, Renault, BMW and Jaguar Landrover working for clients who supply castingswhich are then machined by their customer manufacturing plants. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an articulate, proactive and experienced customer-facing Resident Engineer to complementtheir established and professional team.

Tasked with providing prompt and efficient responses to quality issues found inside the global car manufacturing engine plant, as Resident Engineer you will support all aspects of containments / rework as and when required, liaising with the customer atevery stage of the process and being responsible for day-to-day management and coordination of quality issues on site. With additional support provided by a direct report and full-time assistant, other duties will include (but not be limited to):

- Operating as the Front line and face for suppliers
- Attending meetings where required and issuing support / samples and returning of scrap parts through customer process
- Reporting weekly on detailing schedules; stock status received from customer and quality departments; scrap reports and summaries for each product.
- Undertaking inspection, rework & scrap of heads on the shop floor
- Management of H&S training for team members
- Management of processes / documents / engineering specifications
- Management of scrap and the coordination of scrap returns
- Supporting audits by the customer in-plant
- Ongoing Continuous and Process improvement
- Training of JLR staff
- Processing of heads through Teams shared documents
- Purchasing of consumables
- Leading and motivating your team through instruction and guidance to ensure performance targets are met and reviewing their performance annually
- Promoting the sharing of ideas and 'Best practice' within your teams
- Conducting Risk Assessments as required
