Its global headquarters is in Newmarket, which is the epicentre of the UK’s thoroughbred industry.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Nominations Office Intern role based at our Headquarters in Newmarket.
The role will assist with any day-to-day tasks of the nomination office that help those employed in the sales team to fulfil their function more efficiently and in a timely manner. This will be a varied position that will suit someone that wants to get involved and learn the ropes from the bottom up. It will be essential that they are self-motivated and prepared to muck in and get involved in a variety of tasks with the team.
**Key responsibilities will be**:
- Nomination contracting and associated paperwork including filing.
- Assisting with groups of visitors to the stud including school and college groups.
- Updating databases including contacting clients for information.
- Maintaining the supply of marketing material around the stud and sales pavilion at Tattersalls.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of the December Stallion Parade.
- Digitally updating catalogues for the sales team.
- Admin related to Godolphin Flying Start.
**Qualifications**
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office products
- A keen interest in racing and the thoroughbred breeding industry
- Ideally, be familiar with the names of the largest and most prominent industry participants alongside having a basic understanding of the ethos of Godolphin and the Darley stallions
- An understanding that the brand of Godolphin and Darley are associated with excellence and that this is reflected through everything the company produces or is involved with whether it is written material, social media output or client entertainment at the stud, sales or racecourse.
- Be prepared to work with the team to provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Be prepared to do the mundane tasks such as filing as they will understand these are essential to the running of an efficient operation.
- Confidence to communicate with all areas of our customer base from professional breeders to school children.
- Be encouraged to contribute ideas as to how social media can promote Godolphin and Darley Stallions.
- A willing and positive attitude as they embrace this chance to learn, whilst understanding that the information they are working with may be of a sensitive and confidential nature.
A full and current driving licence.
Working hours for this position is 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. However, some weekend and out-of-hours work will be necessary.
