Please note this is **not** a digital marketing focused role. Experience working with or related to packaged goods and high skew numbers will be ideal, as this will be the focus of the position.

With this unique opportunity, you will experience variety in terms of your work load, which will cover product development, trade, consumer and internal marketing for the one or more of our retail brands, including Darlac Tools, but may also include work on our customer’s own brand ranges.

As a Marketing Executive and key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with your team members, and possess the ability to identify opportunities and take action to reach targets. You will report into the Head of Retail Marketing and support them in further growth and development of the Mr Fothergill's brand.

Prior experience of working withing horticulture will be preferred but is not a prerequisite to this position.

Travel may be required to other Group locations.

**Your role will include**
- Implementing the day-to-day tactical plans for the allocated brand and any other associated sub-brands.
- Responding to customer briefs and produce material to support sales pitches and proposals.
- New range and item set up.
- Development and production of new products working with other functions and departments.
- Stand layout planning and producing appropriate paperwork for other departments and merchandising staff to use such as range documents, price lists, order forms, letters and instructions.
- Creation of new display concepts and point-of-sale material.
- Liaison with, and often first point of contact for, the key accounts team and field sales team.
- Analysis of ranges and product lines to ensure profitability and feasibility.
- Coordinating the launch programmes to external customers as well as employees.
- Involvement in the planning and implementation of trade and consumer shows.
- Produce and make presentations to other members of staff, customers and the industry media.
- Cost and budgetary control.

**What do I need to be successful?**

**Essentials**
- Experience of developing and or marketing packaged consumer goods. Minimum 2 years.
- Marketing qualification - degree, CIM diploma or sufficient experience in a marketing role.
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft packages i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook.
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
- Excellent presentation skills i.e. happy to present ideas to an audience, large or small.
- Organised and methodical with excellent analytical skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects at the same time and under time pressure.
- Driving licence.

**Great to haves**
- Knowledge of or a passion for gardening is a plus, but not required.
- Artistic/creative flair.
- Experience of print and packaging production.
- Experience of working with external agencies.
