Peer Mentor Lead

_This is a part-time role with travel across south central locations to include the Isle of White._
**Duties**
- Manage and maintain systems to provide a comprehensive Peer Mentoring service
- Develop and deliver the annual Peer Mentoring business plan;
- Assess the suitability and risk levels of referrals to the Peer Mentor training
- Recruit, train and supervise new Peer Mentors
- Support Peer Mentors in the delivery of PW and ETE interventions and services
- Work with Advisors from across the CRS to identify ways in which Peer Mentors can support other group activities
- Manage Peer Mentors to ensure that standards of excellence are continually met, and that Peer Mentors are able to cope with the demands placed upon them - this includes continually assessing their progress and levels of risk as it relates to reoffending.
- Champion the involvement of Peer Mentors, and Service Users more generally, across the probation system
- Support and move Peer Mentors towards education, training and employment.
- Motivate and promote a Service Users belief in their ability to change.
- Work with Service Users of varying complexity of need and across each Complexity Level (as applicable)
- Be Alert and responsive to behaviour, information or changes which could indicate a change in Risk of Serious Harm
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour (including Unacceptable Behaviour) in order to de-escalate tension, enable Service User to manage strong feelings and to ensure their own safety and that of others.
- Understand risk assessment as compatible with role and grading and to ensure appropriate consideration of risk when placing service users into employment or mainstream provision.
- Achieve outcomes in accordance with contractual KPIs and the Performance Management Framework.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Ingeus Justice.
- Contribute to relevant meetings.
- Ensure that the Health and Safety needs of individuals and groups are appropriately met.
- Understand and follow policies and procedures appropriate to both the Ingeus and to the probation sector
- Maintain operational relationships with local Probation staff to recruit Peer Mentors.
