**SHE Manager**

**Brief**

Would you like to play a key role leading a wide range of SHE activities and delivering world class performance in a growing business? We currently have a vacancy for a new SHE Manager to join the SHE Leadership team of Maritime Services business based atour site in Portsmouth.

As a SHE Manager, you will be experienced in working across all aspects of SHE activities including strategy, policy, planning and governance, culture change, learning and development, operations management, occupational health and business support acrossa high-risk complex organisation in a managerial position. You will have a comprehensive technical understanding of safety, health and environmental management standards and practice in a business context and will be an experienced SHE professional with astrong understanding of internal and external best practice.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in a diverse and varied role where no two days are the same, providing professional and realistic advice on compliance, risk reduction and continual improvement in order to influence change with keystakeholders across the organisation.

**What the role entails**:
Some of the main duties of the SHE Manager will include:

- Supporting the development and implementation of SHE strategy, governance, and innovative change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in SHE risk management and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of bestpractices
- Collaborating with key stakeholders, such as other Functional leads, influencing them to integrate SHE into existing business processes ensuring SHE factors are appropriately considered during decision making, at strategic and operational level
- Motivating, energising and inspiring operational leaders to ensure safety is a focus and drive a safety culture through change initiatives.
- Leading in the development of innovative technical safety solutions and working collaboratively to develop and implement risk reduction activities/ campaigns/ projects within the business to improve behaviours, engagement and accident /SIF (Serious Injuryand Fatality) performance
- Providing independent SHE assurance for determining compliance with the SHE Management System and business requirements and monitoring the effectiveness
- Supporting the Head of SHE in providing accurate and timely Management Information and facilitating effective management review processes across the business and function
- Leading specific work packages for and on behalf of the Maritime and Land Sector SHE Council in collaboration with Naval Ships, Submarines and Munitions businesses

**What experience you need to be the successful SHE Manager**:
**Essential**:

- Strong organisational and programme management skills
- Existing experience of managing and leading teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Safety qualification
- Proficient use of Microsoft office suite
- Able to analyse and interpret relevant data and information and present in a concise and accurate way

**Desirable**:

- Sound knowledge of ISO14001:2015 & ISO45001:2018
- NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management
- Practical Lead auditor skills (ISO45001/ ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification desirable)
- SHE training delivery experience (Qualification desirable)
- Accident / incident investigation skills (Qualification desirable)
- Experience of working in a Shipyard or Naval Base Environment
