**MAIN PURPOSE**:
The Proposals Engineer will be required to support our clients ongoing growth in the oil & gas, industrial & renewables industries through preparation of robust proposals for targeted projects and contracts. As part of the overall business development theywill work closely with both the Sales and Delivery Teams. Proposal requirements will vary from simple low value quotes through to main contract tender documents; focused on the following primary steps:

- Prepare to Win - focus our attention on selected opportunities
- Develop the Solution - develop a successful project execution plan
- Execute the Proposal - capitalise on the preparatory work
- Clarify the Offer - workscope award

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Project Selection**
- In conjunction with the Sales and Operations team and the Proposals Manager ensure that client’s technical requirements / scope of work is fully understood as is the submission requirements (format, deadline, etc).

**Bidding Strategy**
- Ensure that the capture strategy is followed for all the prospective work.
- Encourage and present technical and commercial innovation in bid documents.
- Support the development of the project execution plan and strategy in conjunction with Business Development and the applicable Project / Business Manager.

**Bidding Execution**
- Prepare the bid documents, internal financial models and approval documents in line with agreed capture plan and procedures.
- Obtain appropriate review and approval.
- Submit proposals in accordance with client requirements.

**Contract Negotiations**
- Support the Sales Team, nominated Project / Business Manager, Regional Director with detailed back-up and analysis as well as relevant correspondence, clarifications and proposal documents.

**Support to the Organisation**:
The Proposals Engineer will support our clients organisation by:

- Reporting to the Proposals Manager
- Participating in the development of capture strategies for targeted projects
- Participating in bid reviews
- Supporting post bid negotiations.
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and guidelines
- Adhering to reporting requirements, being able to verify / give opinion on targeted prospects

**Support to other Departments**:
The Proposals Engineer will interface with other departments by:

- Supporting Project / Business Managers through the bid process
- Ensuring the Capture Plan is implemented during the bidding stage
- Contributing to the project risk / opportunity management process
- Interaction with functional heads to determine capability & competitiveness
- Identification and coordination of bid input as required

**Leading the Organisation**:
The Proposals Engineer will:

- Demonstrate honest and ethical behaviour
- Act in a fair and conscientious manner
- Manage workload to ensure submission deadlines are met
- Uphold the Vision, Values, Guiding Principles and Goals of the Company Charter

**SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Technical Performance**:
The technical skills required for the successful performance of the position include:

- Knowledge of the onshore Industrial market
- Technical knowledge of offshore crane operation, and maintenance and mechanical handling
- Previous proposals preparation experience
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Have strong capability with MS Office packages, in particular Word, Excel, Project
- Competency to represent the company in written and verbal format
- Ability to manage business relationships at all levels

**HSEQ RESPONSIBILITIES**:
It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of our clients Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potentialproblems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.

The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is alsoresponsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises
