The Business has recently laid out a new strategic ambition under a new Managing Director and is in the process of evolving to a matrix operating structure that will drive focus through four lines of business: Managed Services, Software, Hardware and Broadband.

**The Role**

The Cyber Security Consultant Role Function sits within our Implementation & Consultancy Services Division and is responsible for the consultation and implementation of Cyber Security solutions in customer environments, on a chargeable basis. This is a customer facing role and requires the holder to spend a high proportion of their time building partnerships through face-to-face interactions.

To be successful in this role you will be skilled at communicating complex technical solutions relating to best practice and security to a non-technical audience. You will be working with a range of stakeholders including customers (teachers and multi-academy trust leadership), project teams, operational teams, service transition and sales/account managers.
- Customer Impact._ For customers you will be a trusted technical expert, getting a full understanding of the customers security configuration as it currently stands, identifying the areas of risks and recommending a solution. You will demonstrate RM’s unique understanding of the education environment, associated Cyber Security challenges and ability to support customer needs. This leads into implementation where you will ensure that all technical deliverables are met to a high standard. For strategic customers you will take ownership of demonstrating that all contracts are fully compliant and that all Security deliverables are being met, with Security plans and policies in place.
- Project Impact._ At implementation you will be a key member of the project team ensuring consistent technical delivery. You will be responsible for signing off that all Security deliverables have been met and will provide a technical escalation point for all other team members.
- Operational Teams._ The Cyber Security Consultant will work with the Service Transition teams to ensure that the operational teams have a clear understanding of the everything they need with the new service or changed service ensuring it has been fully designed and implemented.

The role can be based at any RM Office.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide consultancy to external stakeholders to highlight to them the risks on their network.
- Provide consultancy to external stakeholders to provide recommendations for future configuration in line with current regulations.
- Carry out auditing of customers networks.
- Feed consultation output into Go to Market (GTM) teams to define the solution sold and provide reliable quotation.
- Carry out development of Technical Implementation documentation including Acceptance Criteria
- Monitor Implementation activities and provide Early Life Support
- Provide feedback to Product Development to help grow and strengthen RM Products and Services.
- Take technical ownership of Security for delivery of strategic contracts.
- Develop security roadmaps for customers, including proposals of potential updates to disaster recovery and business continuity documents.
- Providing Peer Reviews and feedback on implementation issues.
- The role and its responsibilities can be expected to evolve across time.

**Experience**:
You will have proven experience of:

- Architecting and Implementing Cyber Security Solutions.
- Carrying out security audits, highlighting risks and providing recommendations.
- Working with organisations in relation to security Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery Planning, and Vulnerability Management.
- Working with relevant security standards and ensuring you remain current in understanding.
- Rating the severity of threats and provide guidance for customers.
- Working with third parties on penetration testing.
- Readying organisations for cyber essentials and ISO27001 audits
