The Programme Office Directorate consists of three core functions: 1) Programme Governance, Assurance & Project Delivery Standards Function; 2) Programme Planning, Controls &Reporting Function; and 3) NHP Operations.

The Programme Gov Assurance & Project Delivery Standards function exists to develop and ensure best practice project delivery standards are applied to drive timely, consistent and quality delivery of the New Hospitals. They will also establish and coordinate governance and assurance processes to enable timely and appropriate decision-making and the realisation of NHP benefits.

The Programme Planning, Controls & Reporting function exists to drive the delivery of NHP outcomes through the Integrated Plan, drive action against programme-wide risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities, and manage the programme’s reporting processes, serving a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

The NHP Operations functions exists to enable NHP to deliver as effectively and efficiently as possible through the delivery of fast turnaround strategic projects and the provision of operational and administrative support including business management. They will also oversee stakeholder engagement, ensuring NHP staff, Trusts and the wider healthcare sector understand NHP plans and promoting the external profile of the New Hospital Programme.

This Job Description covers 6 x Programme Officer (Band 7) vacancies in the Programme Office Directorate.

Successful applicants will be assigned to a specific role, but this may change depending on the development needs of the individual and the business needs of the programme.

The Programme Officers are an integral part of delivering the purpose of each of the Programme Office’s functions.

We are in the process of establishing long-term capability to deliver the New Hospital Programme - the 3rd largest programme on the Government’s Major Projects Portfolio enabling the delivery of NHS’s Health Infrastructure Plan.

The Programme is committed to changing the way hospitals are built and achieving significant savings through repeatable design, modern methods of construction, new approaches to clinical planning and the implementation of innovation in sustainability, digital technology, and new care methods.

The purpose of the Programme Office is to integrate NHP, drive timely and consistent delivery of the Sponsor Team’s requirements, and provide accurate and insightful information to support decision makers and build stakeholder confidence.
