As Assistant Director - Data Transformation you will support the Transformation Realisation Director (that’s Jane) to implement the strategic approach to data, unlocking potential of data to improve the lives of our customers and experiences our colleagues have.

You’ll lead the Data Transformation Team and implement and embed the strategic approach to data, through collaboration with the business providing guidance to support innovation and underpin Aster’s group-wide business transformation - Programme Experience.

In a nutshell, you’ll lead the team to join up the dots and pull the strings together to create a bigger picture and one version of the truth that translates into real life transformation services that drive colleague and customer satisfaction.

Some key responsibilities include:

- Working with key internal stakeholders to design, develop and embed an approach to data, that creates a positive culture, owns and enhances data literacy, improves data quality and protects our data.
- Supporting Jane in delivering the vision and overseeing the delivery of the Data Approach and be responsible for developing the Data Management plan that supports and enables the achievement of our Data Framework and the delivery of Programme Experience and other key Operational objectives
- Responsible for the developing a Data Management framework (Data Quality, Metadata, Master Data, Data Models, Ethics) balancing pragmatism, practicality, and effective control mechanisms
- Embedding data management into business processes, working practices and behaviours, bringing transparency and auditability to all data-related activities and enable accurate information to inform and drive operational efficiencies and decisions.
- Lead and support the Digitisation Team

**About you**

**Your skills and experience** - You’ll have experience working in an organisational change role with a proven track record of delivering successful business transformation. Of course, data will be what motivates you. You’ll demonstrate clear experience of using large amounts of data from a variety of sources and be able to show how you’ve used that to inform transformation.

**Leadership - **You’ll have demonstrable experience of being an inclusive leader using coaching as your default leadership style. Supportive leadership is key, this extends to all colleagues creating psychological safety in their teams, sharing limitations and finding genuine, impactful ways to appreciate success and achievements.

**Communication & collaboration - **Of course, who can transform alone? You’ll be comfortable ensuring cross collaboration of teams and driving a network of teams approach. You’ll be working with the entire business on their data and needing to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of the team. You’ll be able to clearly sell the vision and bring people along the journey to help achieve our goals.

**The small print - **You can work in a way that’s best for you, this role is hybrid but not in the usual 2 days in an office way, hybrid in a way that means if you choose to work from home that’s fine but you will need to be able to travel across our hubs and offices for collaborative meetings as the business requires.
