We are currently looking to recruit multiple Special Support Assistants to assist within the SEND Departmentof an outstanding secondary school in Central London.

The position is starting ASAP and will run until the end of the academic year.

**The Role**

In the role of a Special Support Assistant, you will be expected to support & assist key pupils throughout the school day. Under the SENCO’s direction, the school is eager to support their Teaching Assistants in delivering outstanding support to their keystudents. The team you will be working with are supported by trained professionals who will support you throughout the day.

The SEND Team would prefer someone who is grounded & dependable as well as proactive in their approach. You will be expected to support both the teaching and support staff effectively and cooperate with parents or carers, students, and external agenciesto ensure safeguarding laws are adhered to at all times.

As such, anyone with a background centred around working within a SEND team as well as a recognised ability to support children and young people to improve their learning will be highly regarded.

To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following traits:

- Experience in working with children who have SEND (Essential)
- The capacity to form honest working relationships with students, parents or carers and colleagues alike
- You must have good oral and written communicative skills
- Good organisational and time management skills
- To be adaptable and flexible and show that you have a patient and caring approach to the work you do
- To understand that you must be a leading role model for students and colleagues
- This is a secondary school with outstanding professional development
- A job that makes you feel good This role is for those who wish to finish every day feeling as though they have made a real difference to the local community

**The School**
