**Role Overview**:
To assist with the arrangement of safe, efficient, and cost-effective passenger transport services within the context of the Service Level Agreements (SLA), Council policies and resources, legislative requirements, and best practice.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the planning and co-ordination of passenger transport for the Directorate, using transport planning software as appropriate, to make an efficient and cost-effective use of passenger transport resources to meet Directorate requirements.
- Liaise with parents/carers and schools/ASC establishments on day-to-day issues arising from the transport needs of SEN pupils/adults in receipt of transport under Council policies in order to ensure that transport is provided safely, efficiently, and effectively.
- Monitor the provision of transport provided under the SLA to ensure that it is operated in the manner specified and required by the Council.
- Responsible for working the transport rota, with support from the Transport Manager, instruct contractors on action’s the service requires us to take, to ensure vulnerable children can get to and from School safely.
- Inform transport providers, within defined limits, changes to existing transport arrangements required under the SLA in order to ensure that such arrangements remain efficient and cost effective.

**Key Requirements**:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

- The ability and experience to analyse and interpret data and present it effectively to various audiences to inform decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively advise and support senior officers, with confidence to challenge where appropriate based on evidence.
- Excellent organisational skills will be needed to agree, develop, and manage the provision of appropriate SEND Transport; ensuring managers have access to appropriate and timely information about their service.
