Wheelchair service, Posture and mobility service

We would like to recruit 1 WTE Band 7 - Clinical specialist (OT/PT) to join the Wheelchair service, Posture and mobility Service, North Wales. We would like to hear from those with extensive experience working within a wheelchair service and has excellent communication skills.

The ability to develop and work as part of an integrated team will be critical to these roles, and we are looking for therapists who are able to confidently develop and manage a specialist caseload of Adult and Paediatric service users with complex postural needs who need wheelchair provision.

You will be working alongside a specialist team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapist, Rehabilitation Engineer and Technicians, supported by a great administration team, which takes pride in their ability to make a real difference to patients’ lives. You are expected to travel between sites as the Service covers a wide geographical area providing clinic and home assessments.

You would be contributing to the wider Posture & Mobility service i.e. audits, service developments, attending meetings, planning and implementing strategic clinical development within the service.

**The key objectives of the service are**:

- To assess the posture and mobility needs of people of all ages who have a permanent impairment or medical condition that affects their ability to walk.
- To prescribe and provide wheeled mobility and postural support solutions to meet those essential needs.
- To promote function, comfort and independence while minimising the risk of complications and incorporating the “social model of disability”.
- To provide line management support to delegated staff and is responsible for ensuring an effective system of management.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
