Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to take on a key role in supporting staff working within rheumatology clinics and musculoskeletal physiotherapy departments in the Wrexham and Flintshire area.

The post involves providing clinical leadership to the service, teaching, training, and supervision of staff, representing the service in Clinical Network Groups, and contributing to the development of clinical pathways by providing clinical expertise.

The post holder will hold a complex caseload and support other staff with the management of complex patient presentations.

Main Duties
  1. To take a clinical lead role in the assessment and treatment of patients with complex presentations.
  2. To work as an autonomous, clinical specialist physiotherapist, developing and delivering a high-quality clinical service throughout BCUHB.
  3. To develop competencies for frontline clinical staff within the section, enabling them to assess, clinically reason, and effectively treat routine cases and identify those with complex needs.
  4. To provide an ongoing rolling training programme and support package to develop appropriate knowledge and skills in the workforce within the specialism and rotational staff base.
