**Job Title: Employability support coordinator**

**Hours: 35 per week**

**Reports to: PUSH Executive Officer**

**Job Purpose**

The PUSH iWork Employment Project coordinators purpose is to offer face to face employability advice, training and support that will assist the PUSH iWork Employability Trainees Young people who face barriers to employment) to secure appropriate and sustainable employment, further education/training, or progression routes towards these.

**Main Accountabilities**
- Undertake face to face employability support to service users who have a learning disability or additional support needs
- Interview service users to obtain eligibility compatibility, employment history, educational background, and career goals
- Identify barriers to employment and assist service users with such matters as job readiness, skills, job search strategies, CV building and preparing for job interviews
- Enable service users to participate in the PUSH iWork employability programme delivered at the PUSH Reuse Shop or PUSH Warehouse
- Source training and qualification courses for the skills development of service users
- Support Trainees to be invloved in the developing and delivery of the PUSH iWork programme
- Assess the need for assistance such as financial aid, further vocational training or learning and refer service users to the appropriate service
- Collect labour market information for service users regarding job opening, entry and skills requirements and other occupational information
- Maintain and develop relationships with key partners such as the Perth & Kinross Secondary Schools, Perth College UHI, Job Centre Plus, Skills development Scotland andEmployability Pipeline agencies involved in providing career planning resources and/or employment opportunities
- Maintain IT files and service user’s records to a required quality standard to ensure the service user journey is documented for audit and reporting purposes
- Ensure compliance with PUSH policies (including Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Data Security so that service users and colleagues are always protected
- The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The duties and responsibilities attached to the post may vary from time to time depending on the requirements of the service without changing the general character of the duties of the level of responsibilities entailed.

**Knowledge & Experience**
- Diploma or equivelent in career information and advice, advocacy, HR or Recruitment
- Experience of youthwork
- The ability to build rapport and work effectively with individuals with various levels of support needs
- Knowledge of the local labour market
- Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft office

**Client Care**
- High level of client care when dealing with service users, colleagues, and partners

**Health** **& Safety**
- Able to cope with the demands of the post and attend on a regular basis
- You will be able to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
- Willing to undertake Health & safety training relevant to the post
