We are looking for an intern to work closely with estates colleagues, primarily on the teaching spaces accommodation programme. This directly influences the work carried out in our teaching spaces.

**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for two fixed term Interns, who have a construction and or building based degree, to work within the Estates Department. The roles will work in close collaboration with the Estates Space team, the Timetabling team and the Learning Spaces Technology team. The main focus of the role will be to assist in the completion of a physical survey of the estates centrally bookable teaching rooms (circa 350 rooms) and score, record and report on building fabric condition, furniture condition and AV set up condition in order to influence capital spend. This programme of work is critical to enhancing the learning and teaching environment, student experience and informing future years programme of works and prioritising which rooms require to be upgraded most urgently

This internship is part of the Employ.ed on Campus programme which is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with University departments and Schools. It offers exclusive summer internships at the University over the summer for 2nd year to penultimate-year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. You cannot take part if you are a visiting student, or you have already taken part in the programme before.

Expected commencement date: June 3rd 2024

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
