To provide a Switchboard service to the trust, answering all switchboard calls and assisting the public in contacting the required parties
the role involves daily management and control of the central emergency facilities and monitoring consoles for fire and cardiac arrest.

We have two 15 hour posts available.

This role is 15 hours per week,and consists of 2 shifts per week on a 8 week rota including weekends.

Shift pattern for these posts comprise of
- 8am to 3pm

9am to 5pm

3pm to 10pm

Additional occasional night shifts may also be required.

**PLEASE NOTE**: THIS JOB WOULD NOT BE SUITABLE FOR A CANDIDATE WHO ALREADY HOLDS PART TIME HOURS.

To facilitate the contact between staff and patients.

The operator must maintain relevant documentation of incidents.

The operator must work in a calm an competent manner in very stressful and chaotic situation whilst continuing to provide a switchboard service.

The operator have additional duties to support the trust functions, such as obtaining taxis, accepting and signing for emergency deliveries.

The switchboard function is maintained 24 hours a day and the night operation includes monitoring and authorising access to the trust via the ED doors.

This role involves updating and checking data entry into the switchboard system.

The operator must monitor and respond to various alarm panels for example the fire alarm panel, cardiac arrest, security alerts and intruder alarms.

The switchboard is a key stakeholder in the trust major incident procedure.

The switchboard operator has the responsibility to cascade the incident alert according to the procedure.
