Research has been happening across the National Trust for over a century, and is key to helping us look after and bring to life the special places in our care. We now have an exciting opportunity to join the Research team, a busy team who works across the Trust to help make this happen.

Our team’s responsibilities are wide-ranging, so if you like to multitask and are looking to work with a wide range of Trust colleagues and university partners on different activities, this might be the role for you. We are looking for a coordinator with strong project management and administrative skills, capable of progressing a range of activities managed by the Research team.

This role is offered at 22.5 hours per week for three months, starting ASAP.

What it's like to work here:The Research team now works in partnership with Trust colleagues and external partners to develop and support excellent research that benefits the Trust’s work. Our varied work takes us across many research-active departments and specialists, and ranges from coordinating undergraduate internships through to large research projects.

You'll report to the Research Manager, and also work closely with the Research Officer.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however this is a hybrid role and there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve some travel to our office in London Victoria (travel expenses covered) to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.

What you'll be doing:As a Research Coordinator you’ll be responsible for providing efficient, flexible and proactive administrative and research management support to our team. You’ll facilitate the smooth running of some Trust activities and partnership projects, including:

- Coordinating one of our university research partnerships (answering enquiries, organising meetings, tracking activities etc.)
- Coordinating research activities and opportunities, such as funding calls and fellowship schemes
- Coordinating incoming and outgoing legal documents, such as collaboration agreements
- Supporting our internal Research Seed Fund scheme
- Supporting with activities to communicate our research, including drafting internal materials (such as our Research Bulletin and intranet news stories) and helping to organise internal and external events

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

- Administrative experience, including meeting administration and management.
- An interest in research relevant to one of the three pillars in the Trust’s Research Strategy (Looking After; Land and Nature; Curation and Experiences).
- Communication skills, comfortable communicating with a wide range of people, including influencing and negotiating.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with organisational and time management skills.
- Customer service and people skills, enabling relationships to be built and maintained externally and internally, across disciplines and locations.
- IT skills, you’ll be using the Microsoft Office suite of tools everyday.
