Within Calderdale the Housing Options Team assist members of the public to identify a wide range of tenancy and other housing issues and provide advice and support to residents to remain in their home or find alternative suitable accommodation if they should become homeless.

We are looking to recruit a Homelessness Prevention Officer to work directly, both virtually and face to face, with a range of individuals and families at the earliest stage possible to prevent their homelessness. The person appointed should have experience of undertaking comprehensive and hands on homelessness prevention or tenancy support work and have knowledge of the rehousing options available to potentially homeless households in Calderdale. The role will also include acting as a link worker for households with a disabled person requiring property adaptations and involve working with Calderdale Social Services departments and local hospitals.
