We are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our team As Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Happy Days, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operational strategy that is crucial for our growth and success.

In this brand-new position, you will lead and develop our diverse operation and function, and therefore we are looking for you to be a strong and inspiring leader.

It is essential that you have great people skills, excellent business acumen and IT skills, are self-driven and have an outstanding work ethic.

**JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES**
- **GROWTH STRATEGY** - You will work with the CEO as part of the executive team to achieve the growth strategy by developing and implementing strong operating platforms across the charity.
- **LINE MANAGEMENT **- Accountable for the line management of Operations, Properties and Food Services.
- **FINANCE - **You will have the ability to manage comprehensive budgets, business operations and lead for strong financial controls and governance.
- **ANAYLYSIS**- Measuring performance of departments and services and recommend improvement strategies.
- **HOMELESSNESS AND IN CRISIS SERVICES-** Hold Accountability for all the Charity processes and procedures that are essential to due diligence and a strong safeguarding culture in all our services.
- **RISK** - The leadership, development, and oversight of an effective governance framework for the charity and ensuring risk mitigation controls across all projects.
- **HEALTH AND SAFETY **- Responsibility for Health and Safety across the Charity, with support from an external professional.
- **VOLUNTEER STRATEGY **- Work with our Volunteer and Activity Co-ordinator Leader to develop a Volunteer Programme of choice.
- **IMPACT**:

- Work with the Head of Communities and the Head of Funding to ensure accurate data collection, monitoring, and evaluation to demonstrate and promote our social impact and success.
- **POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - **Accountable for the development and implementation of Policy and Procedures.
- **SAFEGUARDING**- It is desirable that you will have a thorough understanding of Safeguarding Adults at Risk and Safeguarding Families however full training will be provided.
- **HUMAN RESOURCES - **Accountable for HR across the organisation working with an external HR consultant.
- **TEAM DEVELOPMENT -** Responsible for developing strengths based strategic training plan for all employees and volunteers.
- **ON CALL DUTIES -** This position is required to be part of an on-call support for our intensively supported resident teams. Training will be provided.
- **ADMINISTRATION**:

- Be able to complete and carry out administration duties relevant to the post to ensure that you can carry out your role appropriately and effectively.

**Please note this is not a full and exhaustive list of duties and the post holder will be required to undertake additional tasks to conduct this role appropriately and effectively.**

As local travel will be necessary as part of this role it is essential you will have your own vehicle, hold a full, clean driving licence, and be insured for work purposes.

You will be required to undertake Safeguarding Level 3 training within one week of commencing the role.
