- Please note: Priority applicants will be seen in the first instance.- The Green Spaces and Street Scene Service is responsible for maintaining the beautiful borough of Calderdale. This includes looking after our parks and open spaces, play areas, highways, countryside & forestry, and ensuring that the streets are kept clear of litter, public litter bins are emptied, and fly tipping is removed.- We are looking for a motivated and organised individual with a knowledge of drainage systems to be responsible for carrying out drainage investigation work, identifying potential problems and finding efficient and effective solutions. You will organise and supervise both the Drainage and Winter service in line with operational plans and approved policies.- You should be able to communicate effectively with customers, other council services for example, the Flood Risk Team, Parking Services and Emergency Planning and be able to consult with partners such as the Environment Agency and Yorkshire Water.- You should be educated to HNC/HND level in an Environmental and/or Civil Engineering discipline or have significant relevant experience. This is a Calderdale wide role with some sites located in more remote areas and so it is essential that you have a flexible approach to your work and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes when necessary.
