- We are looking to recruit a Stronger Communities Co-ordinator specialising in supporting Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Resettled Families.

- The post holder will play a key role in working in collaboration to develop strong, safe, resilient and active communities across the Borough.
- The core focus of this role is to lead and inspire a team of officers to provide early intervention and prevention measures to support Asylum Seekers and Refugees to integrate, develop inclusion initiatives and have a positive impact on Doncaster and its communities in order to improve the quality of life and opportunities for all residents.
- This will include:
- Supervision of 54 members of staff, to include the calculation and submission of monthly pay and expenses claims for 47 casual workers.
- Quality performance monitoring of the casework of approximately 150 live cases.
- Leading on escalated casework including liaison with colleagues from South Yorkshire Police, St Leger Homes, Government departments and colleagues within the Council.
- Practical support for individuals at an early intervention & prevention level which may include some manual handling and driving
- The day-to-day operational management of the Corporate interpretation and translation services, which is an incoming generating service, which provides interpreters for around 800 appointments every quarter.
- Liaison with external clients and providers including the development of service level agreements, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that any unpaid invoices are dealt with in line with the Council’s policies and procedures.
- The postholder will also work closely with colleagues in other Local Authorities as part of the Refugee Integration Scheme, coordinated in Yorkshire & Humber by Migration Yorkshire, to ensure the sharing and implementation of best practice and Government policy locally.
- We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

- Successful management and leadership across a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proven significant experience of leading the delivering successful case work support to Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Resettled Families.
- Management of a team providing services to external clients.
- Understanding and knowledge of the relevant legislation and policies.
- Creativity, innovation, inspiring, motivating and instilling confidence across both staff, teams and a range of partners / groups
- Anticipating opportunities and establishing local priorities.
- Delivering successful change, enabling solutions, in partnership with other internal and external bodies including Government departments and the Voluntary and Community Sector.
- Strong Performance management capabilities.
- Management of data and evidence for government funding reports
- Good judgement, strong analytical skills and ability to use data and information intelligently and innovatively
- Establish strong relationships and build trust with Councillors, Partners, Community Champions/ groups and staff.
