**About MCS**

MCS certifies low-carbon products and installations used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources, including solar panels and heat pumps.

Small-scale renewable energy is increasingly affordable and gives people the opportunity to heat or power their home themselves, reducing dependence on fossil fuels.

This is a highly technical role that would be suited to a tradesperson such as a plumbing & heating engineer or electrician with a good knowledge of renewable technology with relevant qualifications. Is this you?

**About the role**

You’ll have a leading role in our Compliance team. Working closely with our Lead Compliance Assessor and Compliance & Enforcement Manager, you’ll be responsible for a small team of Compliance Assessors operating in the south of the county. You will be a strong team player, with the ability to impart your knowledge and provide technical support to your team. A small summary of your role:

- Management of a small team of Compliance Assessors (South), providing technical support in the field and remotely
- Provision and support of in-house technical training delivery for the Compliance Assessment teams
- Installation inspections in support of customer complaints escalated to MCS
- Identification, documentation, and reporting of trends in technical competence as a basis for facilitating continuous improvement of MCS service delivery

**Knowledge**
- You will hold a recognised qualification applicable to at least one low-carbon technology, preferably heat pumps, or photovoltaics, or battery systems. You’ll also be able to demonstrate competence in traditional heating technologies and/ or electrical installations
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels - contractors, colleagues, certification bodies, consumer codes, etc.
- Demonstrable experience of the small-scale renewable technology sector
- Excellent working knowledge of the renewable technologies certified under the Scheme
- Excellent technical communication skills; both written and verbal
- Strong Team player with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to undertake installation inspections against established standards, make objective assessments, and understand complex technical issues
