Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a **Higher Education Coach **at both our **Worthing and Brighton campus**. You will join us on a** full time, permanent basis (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year).** In return, we will offer a competitive salary of**£24,942- £27,258 per annum.**

**The Chichester College Group**is the largest provider of further education in Sussex and is comprised of 5 Colleges based at Chichester, Crawley, Worthing, Haywards Heath, and Brinsbury near Pulborough which is land-based. Through our colleges,we educate and train around 25,000 full and part-time students every year and provide teaching excellence to meet the future needs of the region's employers.

**The Higher Education Coach role**:
As our Higher Education Coach, you will provide students with a high level of pastoral and academic support to ensure access to learning, achievement and progression.

**Key Responsibilities of our Higher Education Coach**:

- Provide academic skill support through group seminars and individual tutorial support and to encourage personal evaluation, reflection and target setting
- To set in partnership with individual learners’ course teams and stakeholders challenging SMART pastoral and learning support targets
- To rigorously track and monitor the attendance of each student and where necessary take appropriate action to rectify poor personal performance
- To liaise with all involved in a higher education student’s programme of study including; teachers, course leaders, Deputy Heads of Learning and the HE Quality Manager to address any concerns and support student success
- To motivate each individual learner and fully utilise college information systems to record, monitor and track HE students’ attendance and progress
- Develop a widening participation programme in partnership with SLN UNI Connect
- To promote and support student representation on the Higher Education deliberative structures
- To identify student needs and facilitate access to appropriate support services such as; DSA, student finance, counselling services and accommodation
- To design and deliver group seminars to support the development of Graduate Attributes and students’ personal development
- To represent the student voice; chair or attend staff student liaison committees, Higher Education Conference, Higher Education Committee, Widening participation Committee
- To support new students during taster days and fresher week
- To play a key role in the HE student journey supporting key aspects of HE college life, for example; in the design and delivery of Higher Education student induction and HE events
- Support students transitioning from year 1 to year 2 of study, progressing to university or employment
- To have knowledge of progression options such as internships, employment, higher apprenticeships or university top up programmes

**Our ideal Higher Education Coach should have the below skills and experience**:

- Experience delivering learning advice to students in a 1:1 or group situation
- Experience in providing academic and pastoral support
- Administrative experience
- Understanding of the study needs and progression opportunities of HE students
- Level 4 qualification (or equivalent)
- Information, Advice and Guidance or PTTLS qualification (desirable)
- Satisfactorily meeting the Group’s employment checks - a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (including any relevant overseas checks), health assessment, references, qualifications and legal entitlement to work in the UK
- The ability to travel between sites
