Are you looking to start a career in the rail industry?

We’re recruiting for a Track Infrastructure Apprentice to join us at Hoo Junction, North Kent.

Our Track Infrastructure Apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to develop skills through work-based training such as Plain Line Inspection and Maintenance, Fence Line Inspection and Maintenance and Switch and Crossing Inspection and Maintenance.

On successful completion of your 12-month apprenticeship, you’ll gain a Rail Engineering Operative, Level 2 qualification.

**Responsibilities**

As a Track Infrastructure Apprentice, you’d be required to attend all workshops with the training provider including skills coach sessions that will be made available to support the theory and practical coursework.

You will also need to complete all coursework to the required timescales set by the training provider, this includes any project work that will be assigned to you as part of your studies.

**Your work-based training and job responsibilities will include the following;**

Support with the inspection and maintenance of DB Cargo infrastructure.

Support with the identification and reporting of defects.

Assist with Infrastructure maintenance.

Support the set up and maintenance of a Safe System of Work.

Drive and be responsible for a company vehicle, adhering to the companies Road Driving Policy.

Responsible for tools that are provided as part of the role.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

You must be aged 18 or over for this position due to the safety critical aspect of the role.

**Qualifications**

You will have a strong desire to learn and develop professionally, using open thinking and have the ability to adapt to new ways of working

You will have strong communication skills and feel comfortable and confident working both alone, and in a team

Experience of engineering activities are advantageous

You will also possess good IT skills

You will have a good standard of secondary education (GCSE’s), preferably in Mathematics, English and Science grade 4 (C ) or above.

A full UK driving licence is required for this position.

**Starting salary of £18,824.**

Salary increments may be awarded dependent on individual progress and development against the apprenticeship framework.
