Job Purpose:
The post-holder will support Aston Martin’s global communications function, playing a key role in managing the brand’s relationship and reputation with international media. Tasked with planning, activating, and evaluating brand and lifestyle PR activities, the post-holder will be responsible for end-to-end project management of communications campaigns specifically related to brand and lifestyle activities, but also extending to product, corporate and internal communications matters. The Press Officer’s remit will involve working on product launch campaigns, lifestyle media events, activation of brand partnerships and key corporate communications campaigns. The post-holder will also assist with Head of Corporate and Brand Communications with managing the customer communications strategy, developing Aston Martin’s tone of voice, and supporting marketing campaigns with high-quality copy writing that engages customers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Manage specific PR projects and campaigns from planning through to execution and evaluation
- Create and maintain written campaign proposals, communications plans, and flash reports
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with members of the international, national, and regional media - with a specific focus on lifestyle and consumer media - in addition to expanding Aston Martin’s network of social influencers, building new relationships and driving advocacy for the brand
- Support development of media relations in new/developing markets
- Be a lead day-to-day contact for lifestyle PR agency partners, helping guide their workflow and ensuring maximum impact for Aston Martin’s objectives
- Oversee the strategic sequencing of brand news, managing an always-on brand communications plan by bringing together PR activities from across the team into a central
- Bring a creative approach to brand storytelling - identifying ideas for news opportunities from Aston Martin departments and then executing on them
- Work with colleagues to ensure that press releases are on track - from initial drafting, through to senior approvals and press distribution
- Assist with international liaison; helping regions execute global communications plans on a regional basis - ensuring global consistency of message and process-driven regional coordination
- Work closely with other press officers to ensure maximum synergies and consistency and coordination of global departmental messages
- Work with appropriate agencies to effectively monitor and evaluate Aston Martin media coverage on a global basis, using measurement tools to provide feedback to the business
- Support global brand partnerships activations, working in partnership with the licensing team to build close relationships with commercial partners and present ideas to drive brand crossover, whilst protecting Aston Martin’s reputation
- Manage PR activities and events, playing a key role in the organization of logístical elements and working with colleagues, other departments, and agencies to ensure smooth and successful activations
- Work alongside Lifestyle Press Officer to maximize media coverage for the brand in the lifestyle sector on a global basis
- Support the customer communications strategy, writing copy and developing Aston Martin’s brand tone of voice
- Implement creative and innovative activities in the different segment targeting a broad range of audiences
- Coordinate relevant media factory visits and/or drive events
- Keep a close eye on media reporting of Aston Martin, providing regular news updates and important alerts to colleagues along with summaries of media coverage for variety of internal and external audiences as required

Qualification & Experience:

- Professional experience of operating in a communications role within a brand or PR agency
- Experience of working alongside media and influencers, including reacting to enquiries a spokesperson for a brand
- Experience of independently planning and managing specific communications projects, content shoots and campaigns
- Knowledge of best practice media event planning and management
- Strong writing skills, including ability to write news and press releases
- First-class presentation skills, including the ability to create proposals, campaign presentations and reports
- Through understanding of social media, including experience of planning and executing high-quality content campaigns
