Public Health Lead

The Public Health Department in Derbyshire County Council is looking for a permanent Public Health Lead for Healthy Weight and Physical Activity and be part of the Extended Leadership Team of Public Health. The role involves working with specific target groups in a range of settings in partnership with local communities and partner organisations. This will include maintaining effective partnerships and networks with statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations at a local and regional level. The post-holder will provide specialist advice and support on the development of public health/health promotion programmes and support community health development approaches and initiatives to address health inequalities with a particular emphasis on healthy weight and physical activity.
Leadership and collaborative working with a range of strategic partners in the statutory and voluntary sector. Developing health programmes and services to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities. Promoting and protecting the population's health and wellbeing. Working with and for communities.
