Job Overview

We are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a strong safety culture within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Incident Review and Action: Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to review HSE incidents, identify causes, and agree on corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of Health and Safety laws, communicate changes in legislation, and ensure the company remains compliant with legal requirements.
  • Health and Safety Inspections: Organize internal and external safety audits and inspections, ensuring actions from audits are completed on time.
  • Affidavit Investigation and Reporting: Assist in accident investigations, including reporting under RIDDOR and conducting out-of-hours site visits when necessary.
  • Training and Safety Culture: Provide health and safety training, promote safety education, and foster a strong safety culture aligned with ISO 45001:2015 standards.
  • Monitoring and Liaison: Manage specific safety programs (e.g., Hand Arm Vibration, Lead Exposure), liaise with external agencies (HSE, Insurance, etc.), and provide necessary information for claims or regulatory compliance.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • NEBOSH General certificate or Diploma qualification.
  • Chemicals/heavy industry experience.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a Health and Safety role.
  • Brilliant communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Calmness under pressure.
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 per annum, based on the location and industry standards.
